Education in Faith - Partnership in Faith

Parents are the first and best teachers of their children in the ways of faith.

As a Catholic Primary School, Mary MacKillop Primary School plays a unique role in helping to develop the characteristics of our Christian faith by passing on our values, traditions, beliefs and stories to the children in our school community. In partnership with parents and Our Lady Help of Christians Parish, Narre Warren, we nurture and inform children in their faith journey.

The sacraments are introduced and an understanding developed through the curriculum. Our Lady Help of Christians Parish, which organsises the sacramental program, works directly with families, continuing the teaching and preparation of the candidates.

Children who have been baptised in the Catholic Church may receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation once they reach the age of discretion, which the Church recognises as being around the age of seven.
