Year 6 Excursion to the Old Melbourne Gaol

On Tuesday 19th November the Year 6 students went to the Old Melbourne Gaol.  Below are some of the students reflections of the day.

I really liked the Melbourne Gaol because it was a really interesting experience and the courtroom drama was a really fun and interactive activity. One of my favorite parts of the day was the tour, especially the part where we could explore the cells, in particular the haunted cell, I personally didn’t feel any breeze or feel very scared.

Last week all year 6s went on an excursion to the Melbourne gaol. The tour guide showed us around the old prison cells including Ned Kelly's. Every single jail cell had something in it, some had something called a death mask. A death mask is a mold of their heads made out of wax. They get it made the evening that the person dies. There were 3 levels, other cells had some history information about the prisoner and others had beds and if you were lucky enough you were able to go in a cell with 5 people just before you were about to get released.

The year 6’s went to the Old Melbourne Gaol.  There were so many scary things such as a haunted jail cell and the punishments that they showed us when people don't behave well . I found something very interesting about the drama play we did because everyone's acting was very good and they showed us videos about what happened to Ned Kelly on his trial in court.
